Decided to make use of the cheap Ryanair flights from Leeds
to Dublin on Tuesday, £9.99 each way certainly is a bargain, the
flight times being 0630 departure, and you come back around 1630
so plenty of time to go around to the south side of the airport
at Dublin to get some shots. Parking at Leeds is rather cheap
too, if you park at the Travelodge it's £5 per 24 hours, a lot
cheaper than the £30 the airport wanted.
Dublin has enough movements to keep you interested with
always an arrival or departure seem to be happening, and single
runway ops therefore you don't miss anything. Are Lingus and
Ryanair do make up the bulk of the movements however there is
plenty of other carriers to see.
The spot at Dublin is easily reached and takes around 30
minutes walk from the terminal, with most of it being on
pavement, although the very final bit you do have to walk up the
grass verge, there is then several mounds at the RWY 28 end
which you can view from which provide views over the fence, and
don't generally obstruct any photos. I am told that there is the
same at the RWY 10 end however it's around another 30 minutes
walk I'm told.
