Yorkshire Air Museum,  Elvington  Dave Rose 7th April 2013

I was attending a Supercar driving event at Elvington Airfield so it was the ideal opportunity to catch up on the inmates at the museum. It had been at least 10 years since I last visited and it has turned into an excellent attraction, with the stars of the show being the Nimrod and Victor. They fire both up on a Sunday afternoon, it certainly brought back memories of the good old days!!. During the visit they also taxied the Devon around and the Dakota was open for viewing. There are many interesting buildings to look around, including the original control tower and large hangar which houses many of the smaller exhibits. Its £9 admission and well worth it, its amazing that its totally maintained by volunteers.

Its situated just off the A64 south of York.
