A Day-Dash to Leeuwarden in The Netherlands Wednesday for
the Frisian Flag exercise, We could not even get out of The UK before having to
divert to two places to see some interesting bits, The first call was Doncaster
for The UAE AF C-17

Then down to RAF Waddington for three French AF Alphajets that had arrived and
were staying the night

At last back on track and we were off down to the Channel Tunnel and up into The
Netherlands, The only thing we saw on the way to Leeuwarden was the Starfighter
under some flood lights at Beervelde in Belguim (Also seen on the way home in
daylight).

After an uneventful drive we arrived at Leeuwarden found a good place to park
and settled down for the morning launch, The launch started at about
09-15 and went on till about 10-20 with 40 plus fast jets departing with a
Bell-412 a Da-20 and a C-130 in support. In departure order they were, A few
call signs were missed but we got 90%

The return drive started after the PM launch and on the way we called at a few

The Luchtvaart Hobby Shop has two items of interest, The TS-11 is hung from the
roof inside and we had seen this on a previous trip some years ago but the C-47
nose is in a corner of the shop and can't be seen from outside
