RAF Waddington Airshow  30th June 2012  Dave Rose

I have not been to an Airshow for over 10 years, but the thought of an Australian Air Force 737 "Wedgetail" and some tasty AEW stuff meant it was an early start down the A1 to Waddington. I arrived in a rainstorm at 0830am but the forecast looked OK and it was sunny half an hour later. I thought I would work the static before the masses arrived and was finished by 11am, ready for the first flypast which was a "base" formation of E-3D and Sentinel. The flying display was well executed with very few gaps, the best performance in my opinion being the Netherlands AF F16.

The promised stuff in the static mostly turned up, clearly the star was the "Wedgy" but other notables were an Algerian AF C130H and Polish Navy PZL M28 (or AN30) and Swedish AF SF340. Base aircraft were mostly present apart from any Raytheon Shadows which was a shame, along with my last Sentinel!!

I don't log fighters etc but here is a log of the other stuff
