Just got back from Denmark on Thursday after a few days out and some pre-arranged base tours, We also visited a number of wreck and relics round the country along the way, The Dane's are the most welcoming people you can imagine nothing seamed a problem and we were made very welcome everywhere we went. After this call all we had to do was get somewhere near Skrydstrup for the base visit next morning so we decided to try the ferry as it was around the same price as the bridge we used yesterday but a lot closer, I have never seen the sea frozen before and the ice went to about 500 meters out from the port on both sides. A nice 45 min ride on the boat and we were across and heading towards Kolding for a hotel

As usual 6am came round very quickly and we were soon on the road to Skrydstrup via two calls

Leaving the base far later than we had planned but very happy with the day an arrangement we made from the UK was in danger of been broken so phone call was made and the answer was "Of course we would like you to still come and photograph our aircraft BUT no one will be here BUT we will leave the gate open for you" Wow ! We thought. We arrived after dark to find the company had even flood lit the aircraft for us with spot lights !! What a winner

Karup Air Base
Noted during a visit to the helicopter wing, Time was a big problem here it was probably the best base we wanted to visit but our guide is very busy and he could only afford us 2 hours so we picked what we wanted to see and off we went. Two hours may seem enough but Karup is the biggest base in Northern Europe and it takes a long time to get round it even in and AF van and the guys know where they are going
