| Back in March 07 we found out there was to be another Giornata Azzura at |
| Pratica De Mare near Rome in Italy so plans were made for a few days in the |
| country . We booked flights with Ryanair from East Midlands to Rome for Tuesday |
| 22nd May and back into the Uk to Stansted last Sunday 27th May, Did some |
| planning for seeing as many Paramilitary helicopters and Aircraft as we could |
| during our stay in Italy. At last the day came and 2 of us set off from York and |
| one guy Birmingham, Not knowing that Italian Air Traffic control was on strike |
| !!, All flights to Italy were cancelled until 18-00 from EMA and all other |
| airports (A few choice words were spoken when we found out) and with no room for |
| the 3 of us on the evening flight we were stuck !!. The Ryanair rep at East |
| Midlands was very good and she transferred us on to an evening flight out of |
| Stansted so that left us with a one way car hire to Stansted with loads of time |
| to kill. Logging begun at East Midlands and a few calls were made on the way |
| down to Stansted for the evening flight. |

| At last we had arrived in Rome just over 12 hours late, We got the hire car and |
| headed off South, Too late for a Hotel we just kipped in the car near our first |
| call in the morning |
| And that was it for day 1 and what a day it was |

Day 2 arrived and we got up from our slumber in "Hotel
De Car" and

| departed the field we had parked / slept in to our first call at latina some 5 |
| Miles away for a Coffee and some food. We passed Borgo Piave on the way to |
| Latina at appx 60 mph seeing the F-104 on the gate. |

| were unable to read the newer Sf-260 EA,s off as they do not carry codes yet, |
