Made its second visit on 9 January 79 when it
arrived from Paris Orly, it was broken up at Bremen in
1980. |

current? with Interflight Airlines as 3D-ALJ. It visited
on four consecutive days - 16, 17, 18 and 19 Jan 79

Delivered to them in Nov 73 it remained with them
until Oct 88, it has had a number of operators since
then but now flies today as OB-1749 with Cielos Cargo,
we saw it at Miami in Feb 07. I saw PH-MBG at Teesside
on 23 Jan 1979, when this shot was taken then it visited
f/t Amsterdam during the lorry drivers strike, departing
just after midnight. |

No definite date on this one but we assume it was
taken at the same time as the shot to the left. |

Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer 3
First delivered in August 58 as XM285, it became
G-AYFA in Jun 70, it's nose section is preserved at
Mold, Flintshire. I saw it at Teesside on 03 Feb 79,
when this shot was taken following its journey from
Staverton, it stayed overnight and left for East
Midlands the next day. |

Fokker F-28-1000 Fellowship Air Anglia
Was first delivered in 1969 and has been leased to
a number of airlines in its life it is currently stored
at Bamaku, Mali as TZ-ASH of Air Mali. PH-MOL of Air
Anglia was a Newcastle diversion (due snow) with AQ531
Paris Orly - Aberdeen at lunchtime 15 Feb 1979. The same
flight diverted in 19 March 79 and 10 April 79 and the
a/c also appeared on training details in 1978 and
January 79. |

Carried this reg a number of times between Sep 77
and July 93, I saw it at Teesside 19/04/79. It was last
noted as N359MT and broken up at Goodyear, AZ. While on
lease to Britannia for a year it appeared at Teesside on
a couple of trooping charters in April 1979. Its first
visit on the 17th f/t Osnabruck, the second Luton to
Osnabruck on the 19th. |

Bristol 175 Britannia 305F Invicta Airlines
Flew as this between March 64 and Jan 76, it
became 5Y-AZP, it reverted to G-ANCF when it was
preserved at Kemble, it is now on loan to the Wirral
Aviation Society and resides at the Liverpool Airport
old site. It called twice in September 1979 - on the 6th
outbound from Manston to Zurich and on the 18th inbound
from Zurich to Manston, both in the late afternoon. To
my knowledge its only other visit to Teesside was 10
years earlier on a training detail 05 January 1969 as a
Monarch aircraft. |

It remained with SI until 1982 when it was broken
up at Stansted. It made two visits in December 79 for
Dan-Air (f/t Rotterdam on the 21st and Rotterdam /
Gatwick on the 22nd). |

Presidential then a year later on to America West as
N198AW, it was damaged beyond repair after over running
the runway at Tucson, AZ in 1989. |

Stayed with Britannia until 1992 when it was sold
to LAN Airlines as CC-CSI then scrapped in 2006. |
