Notes

  • On this day: (1951) - A triple crash for No.205 AFTS: Gloster Meteor F4 serial VW786 suffered a "minor explosion" (!!) whilst taxing to the dispersal, then Meteor F4 VT114 somehow manages to collide with the fire tender dealing with the first one! Separately, Meteor T7 WA677 crashes into the North Sea off Redcar. No details of casualties for any of the accidents. (1957) - No.92 and No.264 Squadrons both move in from RAF Linton on Ouse, and the Middleton St George Station Flight re-forms (very little info on the latter in any of its forms). A 16x aircraft formation from both squadrons lands at 1130. 264 are a night fighter squadron operating Gloster Meteor NF14s, whilst 92 operate Hawker Hunter F6. The Station Flight operate unknown aircraft types but in 1959 they were noted as operating Meteor, Vampire and Anson aircraft. It is not known when their original formation here was.
  • We're expecting Jota Aviation Avro RJ100 G-JOTS on Tuesday to collect Tottenham Hotspur after playing Middlesbrough.
  • The unexpected Kodiak is on a delivery flight from USA and is a 1st of type visit.
