RAF Shawbury Base Visit Thursday 25th March 2010

Gary Becks has been working on a number (hopefully) of military base visits for the future, the first has come to fruition and is the very popular and excellent tour of the Mod storage facility at Shawbury. With over 200 live & stored aircraft currently there, this tour is great for both number collectors and photographers.

The cost of the tour is £10.00 (all which goes to the base), this does not include transport, we will look at this nearer the time, I am sure we can sort out a car sharing scheme to get everyone there who wants to go.

Places are limited to 15 you can register your interest by emailing Gary at gazzabexy@ntlworld.com  your place will only be secured by payment of the £10.00.

Details : arrive at the secure car park (opposite the main camp entrance, accessible via Dawson’s Rough and not via the road directly opposite the main gate) by 0930 hrs; tour the six Aircraft Maintenance & Storage Unit Hangars - 14, 13, 10, 11, 17 & 18; then Hangars 4 (Squirrel), 3 (FBH Ltd), 2 (Griffin) & 1 (Assault Glider Project) and photograph helicopters in the dispersal areas en route; depart about 1230 hrs.  We aim to provide visitors an interesting and enjoyable tour, unrestricted photography and refreshments at the end.

You have until 16th Oct to make the payment or the space will be offered to the reserve list.

THIS TRIP IS NOW FULL - THERE IS A RESERVE LIST
