West Coast tour - Superbowl (Phoenix - Tucson)  29 Jan - 4th Feb 2008  Dave Anderson, Dave Rose & Geoff Hyde

Day 2 Thursday 31 January 2008

Up early, blue skies again we found a local Denny's for breakfast and off to Tucson Airport for 7.30am, we had a flight booked at 8.00am with Sonoran wings to take us over AMARG and up to Marana Pinal Air Park, we had no sooner stopped to take a picture when local plod turned up, we had been reported by ATC! apparently if you photograph aircraft its possible to record the timings, and this may be used by terrorists mmmm, the things they teach them at ATC school. Anyway no problem to watch and log numbers (& times!!), but we had our over flight to do. The Cessna flight had cost about £60 each and lasted around 1hour 30 mins. Davis Monthan ATC can be funny at times with over flight restrictions but today we were told to stay North of the centreline and do what you want, exactly what we wanted, all aircraft at AMARG were photographed an at the moment I have tied up about 98% of 4600 plus aircraft stored there. Next point was Marana Pinal Air Park, totally inaccessible from the outside the only way is to fly over/in, we landed taxied along the flight line, turned around and taxied back and then took off and did a low fly by, again all aircraft were photographed and many have been tied up, any help with the others would be appreciated.
