Lightning T.4's, XM971 this aircraft crashed following a radar cowling coming loose and being ingested into the engine while 2miles out on approach to Coltishall 2 Jan 1967, XM996 ended its life broken up at Machrihanish in 1976, XM990 crashed during low level aerobatics nr Little Plumstead, Norfolk 19 Sep 1970, XM970 survived until 1990 when it was broken up at Bruggen.
